Music
Music is very much at the heart of Queen Ethelburga's and works closely with performing arts as an important element in the school’s creative arts provision.
Like many creative subjects, it is introduced very early in school which encourages an appreciation of the learning and performance of music from a young age.
As students progress through the key stages, they learn more about instruments, music and performance both as solo performers and as part of an ensemble.
We encourage students to work in analogue and digital media and to appreciate a wide range of musical styles to develop skills not only as musicians but also to appreciate the beauty of music and the benefits it can bring as a global language.
Music is delivered in spacious and well-equipped accommodation by a range of teachers and peripatetic staff who are all experts in their specialist area, be that composition, performance, digital music or musical theatre.
The musical performances of students throughout the year are exceptional. They act as an inspiration for others and form an invaluable part of the creative arts experience at the school.
