Queen Ethelburga’s Collegiate is easily accessible and has easy transport links for day students to commute to school.

Surrounded by beautiful fields and rolling hills, the school is lucky to be located between three cosmopolitan centres of the North: the Viking city of York, the spa town of Harrogate and the cultural city of Leeds.

The easiest way to reach us is by car or taxi from one of our local train stations or airports.

Transport Options

Road
Queen Ethelburga’s is ten minutes from the A1(M), taking either Junction 47 or 48 to access the B6265. Visitors and students can park at Gate F.
Airport

We are close to a number of nearby airports. Leeds Bradford and Doncaster are the closest, approximately an hour from the school. Leeds Bradford is especially useful for domestic flights from London, Southampton, Belfast, and The Channel Islands.  

If you are travelling from further afield, then larger airports like Manchester, Newcastle or Liverpool are only two hours from us by train.

Rail Links
Queen Ethelburga’s is two and a half hours from London by train, travelling to either York or Cattal. If you are local, the school is less than one hour from Leeds and 30 minutes from Harrogate and York by train.

Transport Links for Day Students

We love our picturesque North Yorkshire home, but Queen Ethelburga’s also offers students a wide range of bus transport to take them where they need to go.

Day students can choose between eight bus routes making it easy to travel to and from all the surrounding areas.

Alternatively, day students who wish to use the local rail network can be collected and dropped off at Cattal station. The bus service route picks up from the station at 8:05 and drops off at the station at 16:15.
