How do I apply to QE?
Applying to Queen Ethelburga’s is a simple and friendly process. Contact our Admissions Team via our enquiry form, by phone, or email.
A dedicated member of our team will support you every step of the way. We are here to help answer any questions, tour you around the school and support your child's first days at QE.
What are the entry requirements?
QE is a non-selective school, which means we don’t have formal academic entry requirements.
Yet, we do ask all applicants to complete a cognitive abilities test. This helps our teachers understand each student’s strengths and how they learn best.

Is a sibling discount available for UK families? |
|
We offer UK families the following sibling fee reductions:
For siblings in Explorers Nursery, the discount is capped at 5%. |
What discount is available for Forces families? |
|
We offer a reduction in fees for children of serving members of the British Armed Forces. Those eligible for Continuity of Education Allowance will pay £1,575 per term in 2026/2027. |
How do I apply as an international student?
The application process for international students is different to the UK entry.

What bus routes are available to QE?
Day students can choose to travel via bus or train to get to Queen Ethelburga's. We have bus routes across Yorkshire, including York, Harrogate and Leeds.

How can I visit the school?
You can tour the school and speak to academic staff at one of our five Open Days across the academic year. For families with younger children, we host Stay and Play sessions every two weeks. Or, your child can sample a day at Queen Ethelburga's by attending a Taster Day.
