Creative Arts at King’s Magna

King’s Magna is proud of their extensive creative arts offering.

There are several co-curricular options to enjoy including our popular Queen’s Academy for Creative Arts, our Arts Award for Years 7-9, as well as various art for mindfulness activities and groups. All these extra-curricular activities are run alongside the standard curriculum art lessons taught by specialist teachers to complement our arts offering.

As King’s Magna is a school based around choices, enthusiastic pupils can add an extra Art or Games Design lesson to their Year 6 and 7 timetables and an extra Art or Design Technology lesson to their curriculum for Years 8 and 9. All pupils are also encouraged to try a variety of mediums and creative disciplines to help them identify their strengths and preferences and to best prepare them for the wide range of GCSEs, BTECs and A Levels available in our senior schools.

Outstanding Arts Facilities

Our King’s Magna students have access to our outstanding creative arts facilities including a professional dark room for analogue photography and a range of design technology workshops.

Be Creative

King's Magna's art and design teachers encourage students to think creatively, showcase their work, and enter local and national competitions.

We find our middle school pupils are inspired by the accomplishments of our senior students who regularly achieve recognition in national competitions, such as two back-to-back wins in the ISA Photography Key Stage 5 category (2022 and 2023) and two Highly Commended Awards in the ISA Key Stage 4 Sketchbook category (2023) and Key Stage 5 3D category (2023).
