Receptionist Role

Salary: £9.00 per hour

Permanent/Fixed Term

Hours: 15 per week  (Monday - Friday, 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm)

Holidays: 33 per year (including bank holidays)

The Role:
This role is at the hub of our busy Central Management Office. As well as being a friendly first point of contact for visitors, you will also play a key role at the centre of all TUS departments. You will provide general administrative support and be an essential and reliable part of the team with excellent working relationships across all departments.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet visitors, offer and provide refreshments as appropriate

  • Ensure that safeguarding and data protection requirements are met with regards to signing in visitors, providing visitor badges etc.

  • Answer email and telephone enquiries and direct them to the relevant department

  • Provide office cover when staff are unavailable, i.e. dealing with re-directed phone calls, e-mails and general enquires

  • Assist the Marketing & Communications team with day-to-day administration tasks

  • Provide a central point of administrative support to other departments during busy periods (e.g. Accounts, Estates office etc.)

  • Order general office supplies as required and be responsible for maintaining stock levels

  • Keep useful documents such as telephone lists up to date and communicate changes to all departments

  • Act as a point of contact for communication between Thorpe Underwood Service and Queen Ethelburga's Collegiate

  • Refer maintenance or technical issues to the Estates or IT teams for repair

  • Ensure that the reception area and waiting room are always tidy and presentable

  • Maintain a professional and efficient standard of service at all times

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience of working within an office environment and/or experience in a customer service role (preferred)
  • Experience of using the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Trained in First Aid (or willing to attend a course)
  • Competent with computers, sending emails and answering phones

  • Organised, self-motivated and able to prioritise tasks accordingly
