Kings Magna Boys Year 7 & 8 Boarding
The year 7 and 8 male students are currently house in the Parkgate boys boarding house. We currently have 81 students living within the house, year 7s upstairs and the year 8 boys on the ground floor. The House offers the boys a modern and homely boarding environment. The students live predominantly in rooms of three boys. Park Gate offers fantastic rooms that sleep up to four students with modern appliances including a washbasin, desk, fridges, trouser press, digital TV, dishwasher, Play Station and all rooms have on en-suite facilities. In addition, free Wi-Fi access to the internet is available throughout the accommodation.
In addition to the rooms, there have been a number of new developments in Parkgate over the last year which has greatly enhanced the boarding experience for all of our students. The first of these developments to be completed was the addition of a purpose built welfare room. This was a bespoke area made for the students which serves a number of uses. Firstly it provides and area for staff and students to have conversations in a relaxed environment while also providing the necessary privacy to offer pastoral support. Secondly it is an area the students can use when they want some time to relax in peace and quiet away from their roommates. Finally the staff here in Parkgate have purchased plenty of equipment and added a desk to allow the area to also act as a private study room, where students can complete some extra prep or additional study in house.
The second and extremely exciting development was the renovation of both the year 7 and the year 8 common rooms. Our estates team worked extremely hard to have this completed for the end of the previous academic year. The facilities are purpose built for the students to relax in on an evening or at the weekend. The facilities on offer include a wii console, a PlayStation 4 , Xbox 1, cooking facilities and a magnet maze game installed on the wall. This space has allowed us to provide some excellent evening activities for the boys with events including cultural cooking, dancing in the evenings and sports quizzes.

Where is the best place you have visited? Best place I have visited has to be Australia. If I’m being specific it’d have to be Whitehaven beach. When you google it, it doesn’t seem real and seems fake. It’s like something I’ve never seen before – the water is so clear and apparently you can clean diamonds with the sand because it is that fine. It is out of this world!
