QE Celebrates its Class of 2021 – King’s Magna End of Year Celebration

During the last week of term, QE’s King’s Magna Middle School students enjoyed their end of term celebration in King’s Theatre.  The celebratory event included speeches from senior staff and subject prizes awarded to students for their outstanding achievements.

The service was followed by a social event in a beautifully decorated marquee where students were able to socialise and celebrate the end of the school year.

Dan Machin, Acting Principal, said ‘Our King’s Magna students set the example for the rest of the Collegiate to follow with their capacity to excel in times of change, and their determination to make the best of their interests, skills and talents. We expect a great deal and they rise to the challenge, whether that be developing their independence, their motivation, their personal and social skills, or their achievements.

Never ones to let a little challenge like a global pandemic defeat them, the academic and enrichment successes of our King’s Magna students are as strong as they have ever been; and that their adaptability has been exceptional. I would like to acknowledge the fantastic work of the King’s Magna prefects this year, as well as those students who have supported them in their work.’

Steven Turner, Head of King’s Magna Middle School, said ‘In a year like no other I have been incredibly impressed with the resilience of our young people, how they have adapted to the challenges.  With fewer opportunities available to our students they have simply got on with things, taken everything in their stride and produced some fantastic work. The efforts of our students this year more than most have made the teachers so proud.

They continually amaze us with their enthusiasm and the way in which they aim to live up to and regularly go beyond our expectations of them.  Well done to you all on such a successful year and good luck to the Year 5 and Year 9 students who move through to King’s Magna, College and Faculty in September.’
