Chapter House Boarding (Y2-5)
A warm and friendly welcome to Chapter House Boarding
Chapter House is currently home to boys and girls aged 6 to 10 years, in school years 2 to 5. The children are split onto a boys or girls side of the building, with each room designed for two to three students to share. Each bedroom has an en-suite, with ample storage space for clothes and toys. In addition to this each room boasts a flat screen TV, PlayStation, fridge and individual desk space. Within the boarding house, we also have three common rooms, where the children are given supper each evening.
During the weekend, the children use the common rooms to play board games, watch movies, do arts and crafts and even host discos! Each weekend a staff member prepares a planned activity for the children to take part in – this can be anything from water fights, to treasure hunts and talent shows. Chapter House also features an outside play area, with a mini assault course, climbing web and an additional area for the children to play football and netball. The children are encouraged to develop interests in a wide multitude of activities, including sports, arts and crafts and singing.
During their time at Chapter House, children learn the importance of good hygiene routines and how to take care of their appearance. Staff in house aim to support the children in their health, social and emotional well being, with mentors assigned to each child and an ethos of openness and honesty running throughout. Children are encouraged to be kind, caring and helpful and are awarded for making such choices, supporting the children in becoming the best they can be.
