Students and staff at Queen Ethelburga's College and Faculty are celebrating another successful year, following the publishing of A Level and BTEC examination results nationally.
Students in the academically focused College achieved 96% A*/B at A level and 97% D*/D in the small number of BTECs taken to enrich the A level programmes (equivalent in university points to A* and A grades at A Level).
The Faculty, which offers a wider range of academic, creative and vocational courses, achieved 91% A*/B at A Level and 64% D*/D in BTECs.
As seen in national league tables, the A level results for both the College and the Faculty have been in the top 20 schools in the country over last few years.
Steven Jandrell, Collegiate Principal
This is a great achievement across the board and I am sure our students are as delighted with their efforts as we are. Of course, these examination results are only part of this year’s success story.
We enjoy excellent results each year for our students but are proud of the degree to which we inspire and challenge each one of them.
We instil in our pupils the Hill Standard – “to be the best that I can with the gifts that I have” - because each child is important, special and gifted in their own way. We also place great emphasis on our students growing into resilient, caring, compassionate and confident adults, who develop independence and initiative, and who can take responsibility for their own learning and futures.
We provide opportunities for students to take part in a range of wider enrichment and extra-curricular activities to help them to gain skills in leadership, teamwork and collaboration, and decision making.
As young adults going on to the next step in their educational journey, they are our greatest ambassadors.
